Alagappa University is one of the early birds to adopt the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of M.Phil and Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009.. On the advice of RAC, the University conducts an All India Level Pre-PhD Entrance.Prof. N. Rajendran, Vice-Chancellor, Alagappa University, Karaikudi addressed the Dean’s of Faculties, Heads of Departments, Directors, Principals of the Constitutent Colleges through video conferencing today (17.04.2020) and had a discussion with them about the activities and works relating to Research, Project, Completion of Syllabus, Internal Assessment Tests etc.

For admission to PhD programmes, Pre-PhD Qualifying Entrance Examinations are conducted twice in a year (February and August). Candidates have to apply online and appear for examinations to be held at Karaikudi. Successful candidates will be provided Eligibility Certificate valid for 5 years.
